1. Role of CARAT
CARAT is a marketplace technology platform that facilitates ticket sales between Event Organisers and customers. CARAT acts solely as an intermediary.
Unless explicitly stated, CARAT:
- Is not the event organiser
- Does not control event execution
- Does not guarantee event quality, safety, or delivery
The Event Organiser is responsible for:
- Venue compliance
- Permits and licences
- Insurance
- Security
2. Contractual Relationships
When purchasing a ticket, the contract is between the attendee and the Event Organiser. CARAT provides the technology infrastructure only.
3. Payment Flow
Payments are processed via Paystack. When CARAT collects funds, we act as a limited collection agent for the Event Organiser. Funds may be held temporarily for settlement and fraud review. All payment processing is governed by the applicable payment processing agreements.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CARAT shall not be liable for issues including but not limited to:
- Artist non-appearance
- Personal injury at events
- Loss of property
Our total liability shall not exceed the service fees paid by the user.
5. Indemnification
Event Organisers agree to indemnify and hold CARAT harmless from claims arising from regulatory violations, intellectual property disputes, and damages occurring at events.
6. Prohibited Use
Users must not:
- Duplicate or counterfeit QR codes
- Reverse engineer the platform
- Conduct fraudulent chargebacks
- Interfere with system operations
7. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: Ghana. Jurisdiction: Courts of Ghana, with arbitration where appropriate.
